THE FIX
From the perfect suede bag to the leopard pieces I couldn’t resist, here are the very first things I snapped up to set the tone for fall.
I always find there’s something magical about the shift into early autumn. It’s that back-to-school feeling: a fresh chapter, a craving for newness.
There’s nothing like the thrill of those first purchases that define how you want to dress and feel right now. Here’s my edit of the items already giving me that new-season spark.
I’ve always loved the cosiness of suede, and this tote is the perfect first purchase of the season. It’s polished yet unfussy—the kind of bag that instantly pulls a look together, whether I’m running between meetings or off-duty on the weekend. I love the clever expandable sides (so useful when I inevitably overpack) and the fact that it works just as well carried by the top handle as crossbody. It feels timeless, but with that modern edge that makes it a forever piece.
2. I live in trainers year-round, but come autumn I like them a little richer and more textured. These Windspins in chocolate suede are perfection. They’ve got that retro 60s feel I love, with just the right amount of polish from the leather trims. Super comfy with their soft terry lining, they’re the kind of sneakers that work with tailored trousers as well as denim. A chic update to my forever trainer wardrobe.
3. I’ve been hunting for the perfect leopard coat for years—something that feels statement but still wearable—and this just nails it. The 70s-inspired shape is chic without being fussy, and the brushed felt makes it super cosy for crisp autumn days. I love that it’s bold yet incredibly easy to throw over jeans or something more dressy. It instantly gives even the simplest outfit that insidery, fashion-editor polish. One of those pieces I know I’ll reach for year after year.
4. I can never resist a great striped tee, and this oversized version is exactly the kind of piece I live in once autumn hits. The grey, burgundy, black and white combo feels a little more seasonal and grown-up than the classic Breton, but it still has that effortless vibe. Soft and roomy, it works perfectly layered under a blazer or thrown on with jeans. Basically, a staple I’ll be reaching for on repeat all season. (It also comes in navy.)
5. I know—more leopard! I can’t help myself. This diary feels like such a luxury, but it’s also something I actually use every single day. It’s for 2026, which might feel wildly ahead of schedule, but I secretly love being organised early. Slim enough to slip into my bag, yet roomy with its week-to-view layout, it makes even my to-do lists feel glamorous thanks to the gilt-edged pages and chic print.
